About Me

Howdy, I'm Bex Smith. I grew up in Littleton, Colorado with my parents and younger brother. I never moved houses, but finally spread my wings and went down to Texas A&M for college where I'm currently studying environmental engineering with a minor in Spanish. A lot of people ask me if I'm going to stay in Texas after I graduate, and my answer is a quick "no." Although the countryside is nice, I miss the mountains too much 🗻💕

My family is pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. My mom grew up in New Orleans with four sisters, and it's always a party when everyone gets together every year. My dad grew up in Fort Worth with two brothers, and it's nice to be able to visit his family during a free weekend. He also has a vlog which you can check out here and see inside the life of a dad who loves to be outside and try new things (think riding in a hot air balloon or visiting Vegas for the first time). My brother is two years younger than me and joined me at Texas A&M (yay!) in the Corps of Cadets. Unfortunately, none of them have embraced minimalism like myself, but it's OK.

My journey through minimalism began around the time I started college in 2014. Now, I live with less clutter, both physically and mentally, and have learned to live more with less.

I know it's not easy - it has taken me two years to figure out what really matters to me and how I can focus more on it - but I hope to help others in the same situation. I'm here to tell you that you too can be a minimalist without sacrificing color and patterns, no matter what time of life you're in.

If you're new, check out my earlier posts on "What is Minimalism?" and "Why Minimalism?" to get you started. I hope you enjoy reading my blog!
